In a time of such a crowd of blogs on the Web, the growth outlook of the blogging industry was very good, but it’s always hard for an end-user to verify the “real buzz” in the blogosphere. In reality, we also often heard of a particular startup has caused a stir, or the market has been abuzz because of this startup or that, and I sometimes have wonder whether it is true. Running a search on Google for the keyword in order to track the buzz isn’t the correct way, and checking some Web metrics firms for the buzz search also can’t offer much help. Some have turned to Web analytics for this reason, in spite of this has been recognized as a proven tool to track and evaluate the effectiveness of a site, but in overall it’s a tool that only benefited to the site owners.

At least now there is a startup called Trendpedia that can deliver the critical information about the buzz in the blogosphere, or the trends, if you look at it from your prediction angle. Users are welcome to use this site and run the keyword search for the buzz and predict the trends based on the trendline. When you hovering your mouse to a particular dot of the trendline, it will return the actual number of the articles Trendpedia gathered on that particular date. Each number of this keyword shown on the trendline represent how the market respond to a keyword, as we know, a keyword maybe in the forms of a famous person, issue, company, etc.

Users are allowed to search and compare the keywords (up to three columns) and the results will be delivered in the form of a graph as well as a pie chart for a total trends. Meanwhile, Trendpedia permit users to use an operator namely “AND” to perform a comparison on its trend analysis. With respect to the trend search and comparison, they can always trace it back up to a maximum of three (3) months time with the choice of different languages available on the site. In addition, users can share the trends to many social media sites such as Del.ici.ous, Digg, Facebook or send it to a recipient through an email. There are also the blog posts that one can find beneath the graph of a particular blog trend.

To know more about Trendpedia, it is developed by Attentio, a market intelligent firm that based in Brussels.
