Tumblupon

Tumblr has been around for more than 2 years, started its offering as an easiest blogging platform for its users has added a feature which I think most of the Internet surfers would love to use.

This new feature called Tumblupon is a new way to help Internet surfers to stumble across interesting Tumblr postings based on a user’s likes. To use this feature, it is very easy and accessible without any toolbar download. In fact, a user simply need to click the “Tumblupon Controls” that sits in the left-hand side of the top menu, and a new Tumblr blog post will be shown on the browser whenever a new click is done.

Although this feature can be found on any social browsing site, but with the size of 650,000 posts per day in August this year, and the number is growing every day, it’s good to note that this Tumblupon will allow you to read some good posts you didn’t even find on the Google search.

Weegoh

The other day I came across a new Argentina-based social network called Weegoh. It is co-founded by Ariel Barmat and Christian Hentschel, and useful for users who are passionate of sharing experiences around places.

Currently, Weegoh has a small community of users mainly from Argentina. To enable users to share their location-based experiences, Weegoh allowed users to create their own profiles, add friends or follow other people and share their activities through a Twitter-like status update, i.e. What are you doing here? For every activity you posted to Weegoh, a specific place name will be incorporated so that Weegoh makes it easy for you to connect with other people in the same area where you posted your activity.

For instance, place like Gascón 201-299, Buenos Aires, Argentina, there are 12 people (Weegoh users) there. If the Weegoh system can’t aggregate any user in the location, it will show a succinct list of Twitter users with the symbol @in the area. Also, Weegoh allows users to connect with other people in the same location and places in a simple manner through the availability of people nearby, and places nearby; two of the useful features to ensure that you don’t feel alone in the location where you are at the moment.

At its core, I think Weegoh not only want to display your personal lifestream, with all the updates you posted on your profile, it also want to integrate it with some of the popular Web services such as Facebook, Twitter and Fire Eagle. Nevertheless, as a new social network which only appeared in this year, it will be interesting to see how Weegoh grow to a huge audience in the future.

Favstar

As a Twitter user, have you ever thought of finding out who is favoriting your tweets? Well, now you can get to know all this by checking this site called Favstar.

When you log in this site with your Twitter credential, not only you will get to know your own recently faved tweets, such as the number of favs you have given, or received in return, (I heard people said Twitter is all about karma), you also have a basic grasp of the leaderboard, whatsoever the tweets that have more than 10, 50 or 100 favs.

In fact, Favstar is very much like any other Web-based analytics software, it is also offering the popular tweeters in overall, based on the favs one received, an all-time most favorited tweets, as well as the succinct list of recommended tweeters. What Favstar made me wanted to go back to this site from time to time is to read the “All Time” favorited tweets, it shows you how special a Twitter update it is; some of them made you laugh, and some of the tweets mobilizing people towards something in their life.
